MEDICATIONS
Parents, please pick up your child’s medication(s) from the nurse before the last day of school which will be May 31st for most students. Medications cannot be held over for the next year.  A notice will be sent home with more information. Any medication not picked up will have to be disposed of at the District’s expense.

FREE PHYSICALS
On Wednesday, May 29 for male and female athletes that are going to be in 7th, 9th & 11th grades at Grant M.S., Browne M.S., and Carroll H.S. The CCISD Office of Athletics will provide free bus service to carry athletes from their middle school to Carroll H.S. Grant M.S. athletes will be picked up at 4:30 p.m. from school. Browne M.S. athletes will be picked up at 4:45 p.m. from their school. Parents will need to pick up their children from Carroll H.S. Physicals are required for any athlete going into grades 7, 9, & 11 and anyone new to athletics at their school.

SUMMER 2013 PROGRAMS
For information and application packets for the various summer programs available, please click on Summer Programs located in the Counselors Center tab. Summer programs include Health Careers Discovery Camp and Youth Odyssey Summer Camp! 

IMMUNIZATIONS DUE FOR INCOMING 7TH GRADERS
Students who are in going to be in the seventh grade next year are required by the State of Texas to have the following immunizations by the first day of school next fall:
  • Menactra (meningitis) vaccine
  • Tdap/td (tetanus booster) vaccine
  • Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine (2 doses or record of the illness)
Please send proof of immunizations with an updated shot record by the first day of school.  Students will need to be excluded from school if proper immunization records are not provided to the school. The health department will no longer do immunizations for students who have private health insurance. Please send a copy of the immunization record showing the required shots with your child or you may bring in yourself.  Please do not send the original.  Thanks for your help in meeting this requirement. This Week At Grant

GRANT YEARBOOK

Names are posted in the Front Office window and Library of students and staff that have purchased the 2013 yearbook. Are you on that list? If you have not purchased the yearbook, it is not too late to pre-order one for $40. Upon delivery of yearbooks, price goes up to $50 if we are not sold out by that time. You may purchase your yearbook through the Grant WebStore by clicking on link (a processing fee will apply) or stop by the front office or room 335 and pick up an order form. Limited supply.


CHARACTER FIRST!
The month of May emphasis is on "Discretion." Character First! heightens awareness by reading stories about responsible people and comparing them to other characters of lower standards, so that students can recognize the difference or differences.

Welcome to the home of the Elliott Grant Middle School Barracudas! Congratulations middle school students on arriving at a new academic milestone. I strongly believe that your middle school years are the time to strengthen your foundation on academics and to better prepare you for the future.

Grant administration, teachers, and staff are committed to assisting students with reaching their educational goals and instilling high expectations for all students. Not only do we stress the importance of academics, but we also want you to be actively involved in extra-curricular activities and school clubs.

I encourage you to take full advantage of the web site. It is a unique technological tool that gives Grant the reputation of being a middle school with a MISSION!
